CONTEXT

The Animated Realities: The Synesthesia Experience (A.R.T.E) project is a partnership between the Centre for Cognitive Neuroscience (Aalborg University) and the Center for Animation, Visualisation and Graphic Storytelling (The Animation Workshop/VIA UC). The project produced 3 animated, short-films introducing the phenomenon of synesthesia.

The films were used as part of Aalborg University’s research about synesthesia, where the films were used to introduce the concept of synesthesia as part of the data-gathering. Furthermore, the films, or some of them, where presented as part of The International Brain Week (March 11-17, 2024) and Viborg Animation Festival (September 9-15, 2024, Viborg).

Initiated by: Department of Communication & Psychology, Aalborg University.
